49ers WR Aiyuk Requests Trade, Lists Steelers as Potential Destination
San Francisco Seeking Deal, Pittsburgh Inquires
Sources: Commanders Also Among Aiyuk's Desired Landing Spots
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has reportedly requested a trade from the team after failing to come to terms on a contract extension.
According to sources, Aiyuk has listed the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders as his preferred destinations. The Steelers, who are in need of receiver depth, have reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Aiyuk.
However, there is currently no trade in place between the 49ers and Steelers. San Francisco is reportedly seeking a significant return for Aiyuk, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract.
Aiyuk, 25, had a breakout season in 2021, catching 55 passes for 849 yards and seven touchdowns. He is expected to be a key contributor for any team that acquires him.
